I was lucky enough to be treated to afternoon tea a few weeks ago. I adore an afternoon tea, surely everybody does? Many places are now totally on board with a gluten free menu and really do strive to make it special. Warren House in Kingston upon Thames is one of those places. Despite living a short drive away and also working very close to Warren House I have never paid them a visit. Warren House is a beautiful venue – a Victorian private house where one can dine, stay and relax. I had the champagne afternoon tea and loved every bite.
The photo isn’t the best I am afraid as I was desperate to tuck in. There was plenty of choice and they happily refilled which was perhaps not the best for the tummy but very welcome! I had open sandwiches (never understood that – they are also open at The Ritz for g/f) – cucumber, smoked salmon and coronation chicken along with scones with jam and cream and a selection of delectable little cakes. The sight of this and a glass of bubbles makes me very happy.
The grounds and ambience make Warren House a lovely relaxing venue to enjoy afternoon tea. It is also super local to me so really does tick all of the boxes. If you live in Surrey or SW London I would heartily recommend Warren House.
