I am currently curled up on my sofa under my favourite blanket after a snowy visit to The Lost Gardens of Heligan. This was my first visit and I have fallen in love. The Lost Gardens are situated in Pentewan near St Austell, lost to the brambles of time since the outbreak of WW1, the gardens were re-awakened in 1992. I have no idea why I have not visited before. Wrapped up warm we had a slow stomp and enjoyed the scenery and escapism that Heligan offers. After a mooch around the grounds what better way to wrap up our visit than a sit-down and piece of cake in the gorgeous cafe (think wood burner and fairy lights).
In addition to this delicious gluten-free cake, they had other g/f offerings soup (with bread) and frittata.
We now have a locals pass to the Heligan and are already planning our next visit.
